The workshop featured several student presentations and seminars by prominent mathematicians and engineers, as well as insightful keynote addresses by notable figures such as Prof. Guido David and Dr Su Jiahui, and other distinguished speakers. [4]{.ul} {#Sec10} To commemorate the 11^th^ anniversary of its founding, the Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the National University of Singapore (IMS-NUS) will host an International Conference on Mathematical Sciences, Mathematics in Engineering and Mathematics for Life in 2017. The conference will take place from 15th-16th October, 2017, at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at IMS-NUS. The theme of the conference is "Nano of Life". Nano refers to very small particles, often ten times or less the size of a human hair, and is a subject of active research for physicists and chemists. Nano technology is used in many fields, from food packaging and health care to construction and the automobile. For instance, nanotechnology can be used to make strong yet flexible carbon fibers that are an alternative to those derived from petrochemicals, which are now subject to heightened environmental concerns. The conference, to be held on the 15th and 16th October 2017, is organized in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS), IMS-NUS, the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). The call for papers will open on May 20, 2017, and close on August 20, 2017, before which registration on the web portal will close.
